| To connect to the Library's
Network, you will need a computer with the following:
 | A wireless interface.
|
|
| |
 | A charged battery. Electrical
outlets may not be easily accessible in the library.
|
|
| |
 | Headphones, if you plan to use
audio files. |
|

Computer Configuration:
Set your laptop (or device) to connect to the network using the
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP - most computers default
to this setting).
Be sure that your wireless card/device is turned on. With some
computers, there is a button or switch which must physically be
turned on, while others are turned on through your operating system
software.

The Connection:
There are two networks at the Main Library, and one network at
each Branch Library. The name of each connection corresponds to the
Library you are located.
The Main Library has 2 networks, one on the Top Floor, and one on
the Middle Floor. The connection name identifies the floor where the
transmitter is located. The closer you are to the transmitter, the
better your connection will be.
Scan for the network of your choice, select it to connect. All of
the networks are open networks, which means they do not require a
password, and they are not secure.

Hours of Availability:
The library’s wireless is on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You
are more than welcome to park in the Library’s parking lot and use
the wireless, but you do so at your own risk.
The Library offers no security in any of our parking lots. Please
take precautions to be safe. You should only access the network
while in the parking lot during daylight hours, you should have your
doors locked and windows rolled up, you should have another person
with you, and you should have a cell phone ready to call for help if
an emergency occurs.
